Christian Aid Week 2009 - Total

Many thanks to everyone who donated time or money during Christian Aid Week. A total of ?1,665 was raised by the Church Fenton and Ulleskelf group. This could pay for:-

• a tube-well for a community in Bangladesh
• Solar panels for a health centre in Malawi
• A community workshop in Peru that helps farmers learn essential skills
• Hand tools for two nurseries in Kenya

As usual, villagers in both Church Fenton and Ulleskelf responded with generosity during the house-to-house collection. It really is a case of 'every penny counts', so all donations, however small, are worthwhile and can make a real difference to the lives of some of the world's poorest people. Even the foreign coins and odd buttons that found their way into the collection envelopes can be used!
